LORD knows that sharing my personal struggles and how God deals with me, on the internet for all to see and for all to judge, is extremely hard at times. To be perfectly honest, it’s terrifying. But I strongly believe God has called me to have this blog, in this season, for one reason. So someone can say “ME TOO” and be encouraged by what I write.
I was listening to a sermon by Pastor Steven Furtick of Elevation Church, and he was preaching on how we connect to one another by our shared experiences; I couldn’t agree more. I don’t know about you, but its comforting for me to know that I’m not the only one struggling. I’m not the only one who has problems. I love to hear testimonies and victory reports from people especially when I’m going through the same particular struggle that person has just gotten through. It encourages me to fight the good fight of faith!
So my hope and my prayer for this blog is that you can read these devotions and say the same thing. Christina you’re dealing with that struggle, ME TOO! Sometimes you have doubts, ME TOO! Sometimes you have fears, ME TOO! You yelled at your kids this morning, ME TOO! You didn’t feel like praying today, you had no desire to get out of bed, you are having a one on one with the devil, ME TOO! ME TOO! ME TOO!
Are you going through a hard time? Do you feel like you are facing struggle after struggle? Guess what, me too! We are in this together and today loved ones I ask that you pray for me as I pray for you. But in the midst of all this ME ME ME, I am forever thankful we serve a God who sent His Son to earth, to endure all of the same struggles we have or will ever have in this life, so we can look at Him and be encouraged. Because He was victorious, we are victorious!
Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, He made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. (Philippians 2:6-7)
Jesus has that much more compassion for us because HE TOO had to live this life and knows all about hardships. So not only can we be encouraged that you and I have similar struggles, but HE TOO knows exactly how we feel and can relate. He’s been in our shoes. He’s walked the walked. And serving a God who can say HE TOO knows how it feels to be attacked, suffer loss, sad, lonely, etc… makes Him that much greater in my book.
So be encouraged today! You aren’t the only one in this world struggling. You aren’t the only one who has problems. I have them too. We all do! But the good news is, because of Almighty God, we can overcome them all.
Be blessed Loved Ones!
