The Breakfast Bagel

There’s nothing like a bakery fresh bagel to devour in the morning. And boy are they fun to dress up! Some days I just want to enjoy them with melted butter other days I want to go in full blown dress-up mode like this recipe and see what kind of star I can create.

Well today, a star was born! I decided to dress today’s bagel up with alfalfa sprouts, bacon, avocado, fried eggs, and tomato. All things I had in my fridge and super easy to make. To be perfectly honest, if you have a delicious bagel to start with most of your work is already done. Next, all you have to figure out is how to make great, GREATER. You will have in front of you a blank canvas just waiting for you to create something your tastebuds will go wild about. Are you inspired yet?

The Breakfast Bagel

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Serving Size: 2


  • 2 Bagels

  • 1 ripe avocado, sliced thin

  • 1/2 tomato, sliced

  • 4 bacon slices, cooked

  • 1/2 cup alfalfa sprouts

  • 4 eggs, pan-fried

  • Butter, to spread (optional)


  • Split bagels and toast slightly to warm.

  • If using butter, spread butter on the bagels.

  • Layer all ingredients on the bagel.

  • Serve and enjoy!


Next level tip: Spread deli mustard or cream cheese on the bagel for added flavor!
